End Of Summer Skincare Tips

Hi guys, I have to admit, as much as I love traveling, I feel like it just doesn’t coincide with my fair, freckly skin. After living abroad in Thailand and then Mexico, I sadly did  a little number on my skin. It’s not that I don’t cover up or wear sunscreen, it’s just that inevitably being in the sun over time wears on our skin and means we need a little skin pick-me-up, which is what has inspired this post. I recently came back home and bought a few products that I hope will improve my skin and give you guys some tips too!

      1. Retin-A: This is a retinol product that I bought from Mexico but you can get similar products like these all over. This product is great because it not only helps with dark spots and pigmentation but also improves fine lines and wrinkles. From all the research I’ve done, this is the most powerful stuff to get for anti-aging. Just be careful and only use the product once a week for the first month or so and then gradually increase your usage. Mild peeling will happen, it’s just a sign that it’s working by exfoliating your skin. Just make sure you continue to use  a moisturizer while using a retinol product. Lastly, this products makes your skin more sensitive so be sure to wear SPF throughout the day and avoid direct sunlight. *The picture below is not the one I used but a similar product on Amazon.

Retinoid Cream- Compare To Tretinoin, Retin A Cream For Potent Acne Treatment & Anti Aging Moisturizer – Contains Retinoic Acid, Peptides & Plant Stem Cells.

    1. Moisturizing Mask- This product is great because summer weather really dries the skin, especially from swimming or the sun in general. I always wear a moisturizer but sometimes that’s just not enough so I purchased the Clarins Nourishing Balm Mask to use weekly to moisturize my face. After cleansing your face, put the product on your skin for 10 minutes and then wipe off the excess with a cotton round. This product leaves your face feeling really nourished and soft, a perfect compliment to the Retinol product!

3. Brightening serums! ALL skincare lines have a brightening serum, it’s a staple of skincare routines and works for people of all ages. These serums usually brighten by using fruit or chemical acids to lighten pigmentation and help to increase cell turnover which refine skin texture and leave your skin looking luminous! I love Ole Henricksen’s Truth Serum which smells like oranges and delivers vitamin C to your skin! It was the first serum I used and is a winner!

I also love natural skincare and wanted to mentioned some FREE options for correcting skin pigmentation and improving skin texture which is lemon and aloe vera! Both fade spots but also leave skin glowing; although with lemon, I’d recommend diluting it by adding it to lotion or oil as it’s very drying!
